Great Tails Animal Rescue of Itasca County

Pet Food & Donation Drive Starts Sept. 4

GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. – On Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 from 12-3 p.m., Coldwell Banker Northwoods Realty is once again inviting local dogs and their families to “Doggy’s Day Out,” a free pooch pampering event dedicated to dogs and their families that provide them a home. The event will benefit Great Tails Animal Rescue of Itasca County.

For a $10 donation to Great Tails Animal Rescue, dogs can have a professional digital portrait taken in the “Doggie Photo Booth” by On River Time Photography. A photo backdrop and dress-up props will be provided. Photos will be available for download following the event. For a $20 donation (or more), dogs and their fur families will receive an “Opt to Adopt” tote bag with food, toys, treats, and gift certificates from local merchants, while supplies last.

Ooh La La Mobile Pet Spa of Grand Rapids, Minn., will be offering complimentary nail trims from 12-1:30 p.m. Dogs who arrive between 12-1 p.m. can be entered to win a free bath on site.

Lori Brama with the Paul Bunyan Dog Training Association will provide demonstrations and dog training tips.

All pooches are welcome to free doggie treats and to enter the “cutest dog” contest for a chance to win a $100 cash prize. The first 100 furry families will be treated to a complimentary BBQ lunch. Local pet service and resource providers will be on hand and there will be numerous pet-friendly prize giveaways throughout the event. Visit www.coldwellbankernorthwoods.com/doggy-day for complete details.

In addition to the event, Northwoods Realty will host a pet food and monetary drive for the month of September to benefit Great Tails Animal Rescue. Pet food and cash donations can be dropped off Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Northwoods Realty offices at 812 S. Pokegama Ave. in Grand Rapids. Online donations can be made at www.givemn.org/organization/Greattailsanimalrescue.

Local radio station 99.9 Radio USA and host Scott Hanson will be broadcasting live on site from 12 – 3 p.m.

Great Tails Animal Rescue is a nonprofit dedicated to providing temporary shelter and veterinary care for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals of Itasca County and surrounding areas, with the purpose of finding loving, permanent homes. They serve as an advocate for domestic animals in our community by promoting spay and neutering, providing education and resources, and encouraging essential veterinary care.

All dogs must be on leashes at all times and vaccinations must be current. The public is welcome to attend. No dog required.
