What am I responsible for as a foster parent?

What am I responsible for as a foster parent?

The foster parent is responsible for the basics…Shelter, love, care and transportation as necessary. This includes transportation to and from adoption events or vet appointments.

Foster parents are not responsible for vet care but they must use one of our approved vets or be authorized to use another. - The shelter would provide food, medical exams, vaccinations, medications, and the spay/neuter surgery.

Administering medications if necessary. Documenting any health concerns so that they can be discussed with the medical staff, and notifying the medical staff of such concerns.

Fosters must keep the foster animal(s) in their home for the time period agreed upon with the staff in charge of foster care. If an emergency comes up, or the foster volunteer will be leaving town, they must contact Great Tails Animal Rescue to coordinate other foster arrangements.

We will provide food and other necessities (i.e. Collar, Leash, bedding, kennel, toys and treats) as they become available.
